At your next society meeting make Blessing Bags. A Blessing Bag is a bag full of items to have in your car to give to somebody in need, a homeless person, or your local homeless shelter. These bags can be filled with items from your favorite dollar store.
Peace Mission Guild at Peace Lutheran Church in Neenah, Wisconsin shared: In January, each lady puts one coin into her ‘Little Red Stocking’. Each consecutive month the number of coins added to the sock is increased by one: February two coins, March three coins, April four coins, etc.
Through this project $350.00 was collected and sent to a needy group, decided by the ladies. The Christian Life committee of the LWML South Wisconsin District offered “Little Red Stocking” suggestion which can also be used as a Christmas gift gathering of mites for mission.

Gifts from the Heart given at LWML National Board of Directors Meeting
Participants at the 2015 Board of Directors Meeting showed that they are “Mission Servant” as they donate gifts to “Little Bit of Haven” in St. Louis, MO. The organization is a ministry of Acts 1:8 Mission Society and is a “home away from home” for families of patients at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis. Families can stay in the home and have some normalcy and be touched by the love of Jesus.
When the Women of Eternal Hope Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, MN decided to make pillowcases for an area children’s hospital, they decided to get the entire church involved. Women and a few men of all ages came to help sew. At the end of the day 50 pillowcases were completed. One young attendee, Kaylee, age 11 enjoyed the project so much she continued making pillow cases over her summer vacation with her aunt.
Servant projects in the LWML are not only for LWMLers. They are also a great opportunity to share the joy of serving our Lord with others in our congregations and communities. So when you plan your next event, don’t stop the invitations at current members or LWML. Reach out and involve all the people in the pew. You never know who may be ready to serve with you.
Story update: This year friends and family of Women of Eternal Hope made a goal to make 100 pillowcases. Over 75 were either completed or started this March and the remaining 25 will be made at home by women who are on a mission to share God’s love!
