LWML Giving Tuesday Campaign Raises $23,270
ST. LOUIS, December 2, 2016 — The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) announced a total of $23,270 was raised in support of the LWML 2015–2017 Mission Goal on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016. A matching grant of $10,000, along with $13,270 in donations during the 24 hour period, resulted in gifts tripling last year’s total.
President Patti Ross said, “Thank you so much to all our donors. We greatly appreciate your generous support and especially thank those who shared our posts on Facebook so your friends could see and learn about our mission grants.”
Begun in 2012, Giving Tuesday is an annual international day of giving that takes the focus off of the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday and instead celebrates giving back.
President Ross emphasized, “Our goal for Giving Tuesday was to spread the Gospel message by raising money and awareness for LWML Mission Grants as a way to share the love of Jesus throughout all nations. Thank you again to all who helped make that happen.”
For updated information on the status of current grant recipients and payments, see Mission Grants on the LWML website.
Supporters who still wish to give during this holiday season can do so by contacting the LWML office at 800-252-5965 or by clicking here.
