And he (David) said, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou savest me from violence (2 Samuel 22:2–3 KJV).

What is “bedrock”? Webster defines it as the solid rock, underlying soil, or the base, bottom or foundation. When we think of God as our rock, we do not throw Him aside, but we do as David did. He looked at God as his bedrock, the One he held on to in victory or in trials and testing in his life. The Lord is his firm foundation.
