More LWML Districts Met in Convention April 22–24, 2016
LWML Central Illinois District
The LWML Central Illinois District met in convention in Jacksonville, Illinois, under the theme, "Create In Me a Clean Heart, O God," based on Psalm 51:10. LWML Central Illinois District President Pam Spilker presided over her second convention, which boasted an attendance of 294. Delegates adopted seven new mission grants and Sheila Lutz was elected to serve for the next four years as LWML District President.
LWML Louisiana-Mississippi District
"Bountiful, Sow, Nourish, Reap," from 2 Corinthians 9:8 served as the convention theme as LWML Louisiana-Mississippi District President Debbie Greene finished her term in Houma, Louisiana. Over 100 attendees, including at least six mother-daughter combos, gathered for worship, prayer, Bible study, and elected Anita Granger as new LWML Louisiana-Mississippi District President.
LWML English District
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the site for the LWML English District Convention. Officiating over the first convention in her term, LWML English District President Jan Simmons welcomed over 80 attendees with the theme, "Freely Sowing, Serving, and Sharing," based on Galatians 5:13.
LWML Atlantic District
Lillian Biddle, LWML Atlantic District President, lowered the gavel for her first convention based on the theme, “When I Called; You Answered Me.” Psalm 138:3 was the Bible passage 129 participants, including 20 first timers and four Young Women Representatives, studied in East Elmhurst, New York. A new mission goal and 13 mission grants were decided by voting delegates.
