Three LWML Districts Met in Convention June 8–June 12, 2016
LWML Eastern District
LWML Eastern District President Kathy Pavelock presided over her first convention in Binghamton, New York. The theme, “Take My Hand and Lead Me,” gave 155 attendees, including six Young Woman Representatives (YWRs), a focus during worship, Bible study, and activities. Members from the New Liberian Society–Women of Hope expressed their joy while singing and dancing in traditional dress.
LWML Mid-South District
The LWML Mid-South District met in convention June 10–June 12, 2016 under the theme, “The Promise” from Acts 2:39. Over 200 men and women joined together in El Dorado, Arkansas, as President Ramona Stevenson led delegates in adopting mission grants for the new biennium and electing Diane Reimold from West Tennessee as new District President.
LWML Rocky Mountain District
The women of the LWML Rocky Mountain District assembled around the theme “God–Our Fortress and Refuge” based on Psalm 91:2. Held at the historic Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, President Sylvia Bean led the first convention of her term with over 240 in attendance, including nine YWRs and six teens. An ice cream social and theater organ performance entertained after the Friday opening worship service at Immanuel Lutheran. Saturday evening convention guests were treated to a patriotic orchestra concert by The Little London Winds with President Sylvia taking a turn directing.
