Hurricane Harvey Help
This is an example of what the Holy Cross volunteers assembled from the supplies received from the Northeast Texas Zone of LWML and from LWML for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
They call this the “Waiting in Line Welcome Bag.” There are long lines for relief and support still to this day. The lines are essentially moms and kids. Texas District assembled these bags to share with those in the lines. It gives them some words of encouragement plus a LWML bear and an Arch Book for the kids to read and entertain themselves.
LWML Partnering with the Community
LWML loves the opportunity to partner with other LCMS organizations to share God's grace and the many ways women can participate with the LWML.
Beautiful Feet: In Your Shoes
November 2-4, 2017Concordia University in St. Paul, MN
Representing LWML, Michelle Zollinger, LWML Public Relations Director, was privileged to be among the beautiful faces and feet of approximately 185 student participants, student and adult leaders, praise brand, four plenary speakers, 19 breakout session presenters, and 16 exhibitors who were all full of eagerness, energy, enthusiasm, and joy to be mission-minded servants and disciples of Jesus. Michelle thanked Jesus for placing her feet in her shoes at the Beautiful Feet Conference so that she had the opportunity to share the mission of the LWML, which is to assist each woman in affirming her relationship with God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to all nations.
Beautiful Feet is an annual conference that is hosted by one of the Concordia Universities to share opportunities with college students for foreign and domestic missions and equip them to daily be in mission as disciples of Jesus. Beautiful Feet comes from Romans 10:15, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” This year’s conference focused on The Great Commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).
