Friday, March 29 is the deadline for all mite offerings to be received in the LWML Office! The end of our biennium, March 31, falls on a Sunday this year so please make adjustments in your schedule for contributing to the Mission Grants for 2017-2019. Be Somebody
In this devotion written by Terri Bentley, Meridian, Idaho, the last paragraph reads:
In Matthew 25:35–40, Jesus emphasizes the importance of extending ourselves to each other when we see a need – in instances such as hunger, thirst, being a stranger, naked, sick, or being in prison. Are we responding to the needs of our fellow human beings? He chastised those who did not seem to notice the needs in their midst by telling them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me’ (Matthew 25:40). Look to be that somebody so others can see Jesus in you.

BEST PRACTICES FOR MINISTRY
Christ Church Lutheran, Phoenix, Arizona, was the host and location for Best Practices for Ministry, February 20–22, 2019. Best Practices for Ministry brings together church leaders and congregational members from all over the United States to learn from others’ experiences what has worked and what has helped make a difference in their congregations or in their ministries. It is an indoor affair with many speakers/presenters and outdoor affair with the exhibits and eating areas. LWML was chosen to present two sessions and exhibit. LWML President Patti Ross and LWML Vice President of Organizational Resources Debbie Larson presented the session, “Money for Missions” about district and national LWML grants and the application process. LWML Vice President of Christian Life Jennifer Huecker and former LWML Vice President of Communication Linda Arnold presented the session, “Resources on a Budget” about LWML resources available on the LWML website and in the LWML store. All these Lutheran Women In Mission enjoyed interacting with the visitors at the LWML exhibit.

Two special recognition opportunities-
LWML would like to honor our overseas missionaries, those currently serving and those who have served in the past, and give them an opportunity to visit with old friends and be recognized for their service. A Friday night reception will be held for overseas missionaries. There will be a table in the registration area for them to sign up for the reception and to receive a special recognition ribbon for their name badge.
LWML would like to recognize our LWML women in active duty and veteran military with a special ribbon to wear on their name badge which may be received at a special table near the registration area.

MISSION INSPIRATION
At the LWML Board of Directors meeting January 23-25, St. Louis, Missouri, members had the special opportunity of donating items for Gifts from the Heart to the community ministries of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lutheran Women in Mission — The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman's relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries, and to support global missions.
The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.
