District Convention Prayers

Please join in prayer for our LWML sisters in Christ from the SELC and the Central Illinois districts. These districts were scheduled to gather in convention this week but, due to COVID-19, they have either rescheduled or canceled their conventions.

Lord, we ask that You be with all these LWML members as they deal with disappointment in missing the business, fellowship, Bible study, and servant activities with fellow sisters from their district at this time. We also pray for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide LWML Central Illinois District President Sheila Lutz and district delegates as they vote this week to choose new officers and vote for their mission goal and mission grants. We pray for wisdom and strength for LWML SELC District President Milly Kwiatkowski as she revises her convention plans to meet later this year.

The LWML thanks God for Milly Kwiatkowski (SELC) and Sheila Lutz (Central Illinois) as they come to the end of their terms of service as district presidents.

Lord, hear our prayers.

In His service, surrounded by HIS Grace
LWML President Debbie Larson

The LWML Louisiana-Mississippi District held a Zoom meeting Sunday afternoon, April 25, to install five newly elected officers. Led by outgoing District President Anita Granger, Michelle Zollinger was installed as the district’s new president. Proudly watching their daughter were past national LWML President Ida Mall (1991–1995) and her husband, Ken. The group also voted to support eight new mission grants with a mission goal of $60,000 and approved six bylaw changes during their voting process. Elected as their new junior pastoral counselor is Rev. Michael Shannon from Shreveport, Louisiana. Attending as LWML representative was Ginger Starrett, LWML Recording Secretary, and Arlene Naasz, LWML Meeting Manager and BOD mentor to Anita Granger.

Share Your Story

The Gospel Outreach Committee would like to hear stories from the mission field — your mission field. Chairman Martha Hartwig comments, “Don’t you just love an uplifting Gospel story? So do we!” If you have a story about a time you were led by the Holy Spirit to share the love of Christ – or were a witness to it - please share it with the Gospel Outreach Committee by contacting the Vice President of Gospel Outreach here. A Special Offer from the LWML Store!

With many LWML district conventions being canceled for the safety of our members, many are unable to see and purchase new LWML products. As a special compensation, LWML is offering free shipping on any order of more than $75. This offer applies to both old and new products, extending to individuals and districts. Please keep in mind that shipping is less if it is delivered to a church rather than to a household. This offer is good through May and June of 2020. View all products available here. (Please note: Shipping costs still apply on free items such as Mite Boxes, Mission Grant Bookmarks, PR Brochures, etc.)

Celebrate All Women in May

May is the month mothers are celebrated. Since not all women are mothers, the LWML takes this time to celebrate all women in their own special role: sister, co-worker, aunt, niece, cousin, mentor, or friend. The May Servant Activity was originally developed to help plan a spa day/mini retreat at your church to bless women. However, there are activities you might do individually and deliver as gifts. Find the ideas, and recipes for pampering items, here.

Personalize Your Mite Calendar

While LWML groups “mite” not be gathering and receiving mite offerings at local congregations or zone events, the work of the LWML goes on, thanks to our faithful God and His people serving with gladness! The May Mite Challenge Calendar is posted here. You can download, save, and send to your group members via email and print a copy to post on your refrigerator or to use with your daily devotions.
