I learned how to sail as a kid, and one of the earliest lessons β€” after identifying starboard and port β€” is how to turn the sailboat. You cannot just sail across the lake. Eventually, you will need to turn the sailboat and come back to port. Alas, turning the boat can be tricky. The skipper yells, β€œReady about!” only after she has paid attention to the wind, the waves, the compass point, the boom, the jib, the tiller, and the crew.

The same is true in our lives, is it not? When we leave one season, we turn to another. Turns can be tricky.
