Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him (Psalm 34:8 NIV).
Each new day may bring us joy, surprises or disappointment. What will today bring? A popular proverb assures us “Variety is the spice of life”! It is amazing how many people have a routine for each day, Monday — laundry, Tuesday — grocery shopping and so on. They rarely change their routine. Try something new today! Maybe a new flavor coffee at the coffee shop or surprise a waitress by ordering something different and leave a Mustard Seed with her tip! Visit a friend or send them a card from the LWML Catalog. Even though our days may seem routine we know that God is a constant in our life. We can always count on Him to get us through the unexpected that happens in our lives. We know that an amazing peace comes from the saving knowledge of the assurance of God’s grace and forgiveness!
Dear Lord,
We ask that you be with us as we try to step out of our comfort zone to try something new. Make us your witness to everyone we meet. In Your Name, we pray. Amen

A young woman, living in her parents’ home, entered church seeming to be alone. No one met her with a friendly smile, gave her a hug, or welcomed her by name. How sad! She had been worshipping there all her life, but hadn’t found her comfort zone.
Somebody should reach out to welcome her. Who will be that somebody?
Be that somebody creating a friendly environment, encouraging her to use her God given talents. When God tugs on your heart to be that somebody, respond to God’s urging.
Lord, help me encourage women in relationships as sisters in Christ. Make me brave to act, and gracious to serve in all circumstances. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lutheran Women in Mission are always on an adventure. “Adventure” is defined as an unusual and exciting experience or activity. And, just like all of creation, God provides for us many adventures. They may seem scary at first, but once you engage and let the Holy Spirit guide you, you will discover the wonderful and marvelous plans the Lord has for you.
Adventures abound in the Word, where we can read, learn, and prepare for spreading the Good News to all that we encounter. Servant events and mission related activities are another source of joyful adventures. All of these adventures can be shared with the women in your life so that they too can discover the journeys the Lord has planned for them.
Joyfully Serving Him,

Do you value encouragement from others? Encouragement from fellow Christians can uplift and give support in the day-to-day activities of life. You can encourage others through the power of the Holy Spirit by sharing your faith in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as sharing your joy in serving Him through the LWML and its many opportunities.
Does a special woman in your life need encouragement? Perhaps you could share:
I am so happy that you are my Christian friend! I rejoice in the saving work my Savior has done through His perfect life, suffering, and death — all for me and you. I live in the hope of eternal life in heaven with my Savior. The LWML offers me a welcoming place to share my joy in Jesus through Bible study, fellowship, and service. Join me and we can visit the LWML website (www.lwml.org) today to find out all the opportunities this group of loving women can offer to you!
Identify those who need encouragement in your life. Make an opportunity to encourage them today. Take 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to heart: Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. The Time is NOW!

Say Yes to the Dress! This is probably one of the most popular shows for women on today’s TV. Females love weddings! You can get new women to attend your zone rally this spring by having a Wedding Dress Fashion Show using bride, bridesmaids, and flower girl dresses from the women in your zone. Encourage all women to participate! Once they are at the rally, spread the enthusiasm of Lutheran Women in Mission.
In God’s Word — A devotion on the wedding at Cana.
Mission — An ingathering of wedding-type presents for a women’s shelter.
Service — Opportunities to serve the Lord through the LWML.
Fellowship — Reception to share the joy that results from being women of the LWML and an opportunity to develop new relationships with your sisters in Christ. Hand out “With this Ring” Mustard Seed Devotions as favors.

BRRRR!!!! In many parts of our country, it’s COLD outside!
Do you remember the orange drink called “Tang”? Invented in 1957 by chemist William Mitchell, NASA started using it in 1962 during John Glenn’s Mercury flight to improve the taste of the water from the life support system. Tang is still available!
My grandmother and mother used Tang to make one of my favorite childhood beverages — SPICED TEA
1 c. instant tea
20 oz. container of powdered TANG (or other orange drink mix)
1 c. sugar (optional)
2 T. ground cinnamon
2 t. ground cloves
Mix ingredients together. Store in an air-tight container. Stir 2 T. into 1 c. hot water. Enjoy!
Put half a cup of the powdered mixture in a small baggie. Place it and the recipe in a new or re-purposed mug or even a disposable to-go cup. Engage, Encourage and Equip a shut-in, work colleague, classmate, friend or neighbor by sharing a Mustard Seed Devotion, Master’s Card or LWML news — all Enjoyed over a cup of SPICED TEA!

Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
We always have fellowship, a devotion, prayer, and a project during our monthly LWML society meeting. During our fellowship, we make note of the people for whom we’ll pray. For our devotion, we use LWML Mission Grant of the Month resources. We pray the prayer for the Mission Grant and continue with our special petitions. For our project, we strive to do something to help our church family or the community. We close with the Lord’s Prayer while holding hands.
We may be few in number in our meeting, but we know we’re part of the larger whole of LWML and the holy catholic [Christian] church and, with the power of the Holy Spirit, we are indeed reaching “the ends of the earth” with the love of Jesus Christ!
